This is a continuation of my free write for Trek Tech and fits into my 'Learning Curve' story arc. It touches on McCoy's growing concerns about the link between Kirk and Spock, and fits in between 'The Ties That Bind' and 'Six Degrees of Separation.'
Season One, Episode Six of Star Trek: Full Speed Ahead
Stardate 43243.1: (continued from the previous episode) The missing Ensign O'Day has Farragut along with two other Starfleet vessels conducting a wide search and rescue, with his best friend Lieutenant (jg) Greg Aspinall leading the charge. As time wears on and the chance of finding him alive dwindles due to the limits of the ensign's EVA capacity, Greg risks as much as he can to find his friend, even in the face of orders from Captain Leone.
On April 19 of 2159, Lili and Doug vote on Lafa II for the first time.
In 2423, the galaxy is at a crossroads. The two dominating powers in the quadrants, the Federation and the Klingon Empire, are teetering on the edge of war for the first time in decades. In the days leading up to the Dominion War, the U.S.S. Tian An Men goes missing while on patrol of the Cardassian border. The U.S.S. Magellan, a Galaxy-class starship, is sent to negoiate with the Cardasssians after some maneuvering to get the assignment by it's new captain. Along the way a bold plan is formed to rescue the Tian An Men and it's crew.
