She's escaped. She's finally free. But what does a former Orion slave girl do after her life of servitude is over? How does she recover from the years of being abused?

During the final forty days of the Dominion War, battles become more and more dangerous as the Dominion, Breen, and Cardassians are determined to make the Federation Alliance fight for every inch of space. Even knowing the heavy cost in ships and in lives, Starfleet, Klingon, and Romulan forces remain resolved to put an end to two years of devastating war.

Aboard the Lambda Paz, Limis Vircona cannot help but contemplate her future in Starfleet, while she and her crew wonder if they and their loved ones will live to see the final victory.

On the Constantinople, a crew of decorated war heroes prepare for what may be their last stand.

Behind enemy lines, a Cardassian gul's devotion to his beloved empire is pushed to the limits and one of the Dominion's most loyal servants remains determined to fight for a lost cause even as his gods stand on the verge of extinction.

It’s been two years since the end of the Dominion War. The Alpha Quadrant is still reeling in the aftermath of the most destructive interstellar war in over two millennia. The Romulan Star Empire teeters on the brink of economic and social collapse as the Klingons struggle to come to grips with a failing warrior ethos that has left their society riddled with nepotism and corruption. What remains of the Cardassian Union is in shambles with a road to recovery that will be measured in decades.

As the great powers of the quadrant lick their wounds, the second-tier governments vie for position and spark a firestorm of ‘minor’ conflicts that further sap the strength of the beleaguered Federation. The Alshain/Son’a War, the Talarian Incursion, the Benzar Plebiscite Crisis, the Velk Incident, a resurgent Maquis movement and religious terrorism on Bajor… the crises mount as an overwhelmed Starfleet struggles to cope.

Amidst this turmoil, a new shadow takes shape, a potential catastrophe the likes of which has never been seen in the Federation’s history.
