This is the second of two "Knowing" stories dealing with the same events as seen from different viewspoints. This is not simply a repeat, but contains many new scenes. Here you will find out what Jamie really wrote in his notebook. The notebook sequences were written by Noah Moody when he was the same age as young James.

Before they were aboard the Challenger the crew had other lives, other assignments, and other tales to tell. This is a compilation of those tales and how they set the stage for the future.

When the Endurance encounters a terrifyingly strong unseen enemy while on a routine patrol, Commander Dar Thavalan, the ship’s CMO, is forced to take command.  Severely injured in the ensuing firefight, she is nursed back to health by a newly-minted Starfleet doctor.

 She is determined to have Starfleet Command investigate the incident and identify the unknown assailant in order to protect other Federation vessels from this invisible foe, but Command is just as determined to sweep the entire incident under the rug.

In 2385, Danny Scott has gone insane. Or as close to it as you can be without receiving an official diagnosis. Locked up for months in a Federation funny farm, he’s had his fill of tests, poking and prodding. The universe has changed and no one has any idea except him. Things are wrong and the answers aren’t in his less-than-comfortable room.

It’s time to hit the road and get answers. These are the continuing adventures of Danny Scott as he engineers his escape and searches the universe for answers. Whether they’re answers he’ll like is another matter entirely.
