Summary: Submitted as an entry for the June 2011 challenge on TrekBBS.

The first Puritan settlers of America sought religious freedom, but only for themselves. While they accepted non-Christian faiths, the Puritans considered persons belonging to other Christian sects to be false Christians. The earliest settlers of the American south believed in the freedom to discriminate on the basis of race. More recently, sectarian warfare in Iraq between the Sunni and Shi’a sects of Islam was kept in check by the secular dictator Saddam Hussein. Following his downfall in Operation Iraqi Freedom, religious extremists considered themselves free to continue the blood feuds of the last thousand years. And in the 24th century during the waning months of the Dominion War, the Cardassians sought freedom from their Dominion overlords. But what exactly does freedom mean to a race that values order and security over what Terrans would label as individual civil liberties? Told from the vantage points of three major factions that arose from the fall of the Dominion-allied government, this is the story of how the populace basks in its newfound freedom.

Summary: The first years for a joined Trill can be a difficult even for those who went through all the rigorous training. The challenge is to reconcile the duality that exists between host and symbiont when differentiating the host's talents prior to joining from those of previous hosts or meeting old friends and colleagues of those previous hosts. It is even more of a challenge for Ezri Tigan, who had not planned to be joined.

Summary:

A century before the Dominion War, the Ku'Vok-leth (The Honor Brigade) was a prominent military faction within the Klingon Empire. When the Empire and the Federation made peace, the Ku'Vok-leth became far less influential. Following the Dominion War, the Klingon High Council began turning a blind eye to the actions of the Ku'Vok-leth. Now, this anti-Federation group plans on using one of the biggest scientific discoveries, a single particle capable of destroying subspace, as a weapon.

Retired Starfleet captain Benjamin Sisko must reunite with his former colleagues to stop these Klingon radicals before they can cut off a strategically important star system from the Federation forever.

But this conspiracy turns out to be more than just a simple act of terrorism, as Section 31, the Romulan Star Empire, and the Dominion have a vested interest in the events of the next few days. And as the crew of Deep Space Nine come to learn, such a conspiracy reaches all the way up to the President of the Federation.
