We're back to mass murder and genocide. Man, there is very little more disciple than what these Earth First clowns are up to. They're a bit like Nazis. Or maybe a lot like Nazis. Which is great, since killing Nazis is similar to killing zombies. You never feel bad afterward.

As Julian said at some point - the vulcans insisted on Section 31 to protect the Federation against it's greatest threat: humanity. 

The awful thing about Earth First, Nazis, Al Quedah, ISIS, Boko Haram, Camir Rouge - they all fervently believed they were right and what they were doing was necessary. As nasty as the outside enemies of the Federation get, none of them, not even the borg are as terrifying as humanity hell bent on purity.
