In the spirit of fun and adventure I humbly extend a challenge to the many fine writers of Ad Astra: Write a story that is within the universe of Unsung Heroes. It’s a round robin event organized as an open series meaning that you can post your own stories to the series, the various stories adding together like the chapters of a book. Prequel, sequel, TNG mirror universe – the galaxy’s the limit!
The instructions are simple. Read Star Trek HQ first and then come up with your own story that plays within the same ‘virtual sandbox’. Some good ideas for additional stories might be: ‘What did Amy do next?’, or, ‘What happened to Doctor Dunmore when he returned to Starfleet Command?’
And what of our new enemy? Although little is known about him, his powers of creation and destruction are very real. Originating from an entirely new faction of the Borg, it appears that the collective has changed its views on the importance and role of the individual. Can this Borg Homunculus – this drone that is not a drone – spawn entire new cubes faster than Starfleet can scream retreat?

Your story does not need to use any of this technology – it’s available merely as technical backstory that you might find useful.

Meanwhile, Captain Limis Vircona's shuttle crashlands on a desolate planet. While awaiting rescue, she recalls her first mission with Starfleet Intelligence when she first became aware of the existence of Section 31.
It is the 25th century and advances in temporal mechanics have yielded a golden age in historical research. Able to travel back in time, observers are able to witness pivotall events in human history, first hand.For Kelsey Ford, this means a chance to travel back to the 22nd century, and be an eyewitness to the birth of the Federation.
But, the past -- like the future-- is not set in stone, and what she discovers will forever alter mankind's path, reshape the balance of power, and unleash a horrifying new menace upon the galaxy.

It went bang. Started as a one off ficlet, this story is my current Work-in-Progress and I'm quite excited about the possibilities. Unfortunately progress is slow due to RL and a wandering muse. Hopefully the patient will find an ending.As the Federation returns to the Delta Quadrant eight years after the the USS Voyager destroyed the Borg unicomplex and a key transwarp hub, the crew of the USS Tesseract -- the fleet's largest and most advanced ship -- has no idea what they'll find there.
Just as they launch their seven-year mission, they stumble across a mystery that will soon unfold into an opportunity -- or a nightmare of epic proportions. Loyalties are tested, political intrigue abounds, and the Tesseract's ex-Borg first officer will finally seize control of his own destiny ... and perhaps that of the entire quadrant.
