Premiering February 5th, 2011, in weekly free write #12, this was a first line prompt this particular one being “I thought I was going to die but was afraid I might not.” I did alter the first line just a bit for this response and it worked out better than I hoped.
Premiering on June 1st, 2011, in weekly free write #29, the prompt was “Last Words” and I felt it appropriate to follow up the story “Hank’s Funeral” from free write #15 with Bethany’s view on things.
Premiering March 1st, 2011, in weekly free write #16, this was the story that began the deluge of the Hank/Bethany stories. The topic was "Outside of one's comfort zone" and I could think of nothing more appropriate than this.
Premiering on May 9th, 2012, in weekly free write #69, the prompt was “Truths”. So, it was here where I took the opportunity to write a story focusing on the beginning of the end for Hank Harrison.
Premiering on August 22nd, 2012, in weekly free write #79, the prompt was “Wanting”. This is a story of Bethany wanting to get back something she can no longer have.
Premiering April 15th, 2013, in weekly free write #90, the prompt here was “Paint a Scene”. So, I went and painted this. The story introduced a new member of the Harrison clan (whom I just adored writing in his very first appearance), here's Hank and Bethany at a familiar place for them, but feeling very unfamiliar feelings.
Premiering in on June 27th, 2012, in weekly free write #75, the prompt was “Finish Line”. The goal here (pun!) was to write a story where our characters accomplish something. I took this opportunity to explore the complicated sibling dynamic of Sarah and Brian Harrison.
Premiering on January 15th, 2013, in weekly free write #88, the prompt was “Trek Tech” and how it impacted our characters lives. This story explores Sarah and how Trek Tech impacted her life, and the lives of others.
Premiering on June 21st, 2012, in weekly free write #74, the prompt was “Family”. So, Hank/Bethany and a family moment was called for … pudding was never the same again after this.
Premiering on April 30th, 2013, in weekly free write #91, the prompt was “First Berth”, a story about our character’s first posting. So, naturally, this called for some Hank/Bethany. This is Bethany’s first posting and her first day on the job.
Premiering on May 6th, 2013, in weekly free write #92, the prompt was “Smackdown”. I took this opportunity to showcase Hank and Bethany in a light we don’t see often, one where they aren’t exactly getting along.
Premiering on June 12th, 2012, in weekly free write #73, the prompt was “Obstacles”. This one pretty much screamed Sarah Harrison, as she’s a child who definitely can be an obstacle at times.
Premiering on November 22nd, 2011, in weekly free write #54, the prompt was “Motivations and Inspirations”. So, I took this time to tell the otherwise unknown story of why Hank actually got into Starfleet in the first place.
Premiering on May 15th, 2012, in weekly free write #70, the prompt was “Chores”. Naturally, this lead to a Hank/Bethany story involving Harmony Harrison, their eldest daughter, and a chore she didn’t want to do.
Premiering on August 11th, 2011, in weekly free write #40, the prompt was “Artistry”. I took this opportunity to tell a story about how certain people see art among Hank and Bethany’s friends.
Premiering June 18th, 2013, in weekly free write #97, the prompt was “Sweetness”. This story is very much about that but in a different way than normally portrayed with Hank and Bethany. Some things are better than dreams.
Premiering August 2nd, 2011, in weekly free write #39, the prompt was “You make me wanna scream”. In this case, I decided to take the prompt and make it into a verbal duel, not something I do often.
Premiering on July 13th, 2011, in weekly free write # 35, the prompt was “Small Universe Syndrome.” Star Trek is particularly bad about bringing together characters that have nothing to do with one another for story purposes. With this in mind, the challenge was to do the same for a response to that week’s prompt … I could think of nothing better than this.
Premiering on October 1st, 2012, in weekly free write #81, the prompt was “Rituals”. So, I took this opportunity to write a ritual Hank and Bethany were meant to experience from the beginning.
Premiering on April 29th, 2011, in weekly free write #24, the prompt was a first line one. In this case it was “You’re too late.” I had to think a bit hard on this one but after my first attempt, I came back and did this: was much happier with it.
Premiering on January 3rd, 2013, in weekly free write #89, the prompt was “Resolutions”. Hank and Bethany deal with a common problem around the holidays.
Premiering on December 29th, 2012, in weekly free write #86, the prompt was “The Gift”. Being it was the season of gift giving, this seemed like a good opportunity to tell this story, about Hank and Bethany’s first Christmas as a couple.
Premiering September 13th, 2011, in weekly free write #44, the prompt was “All you need is love” and this is what came of it.
Premiering on February 7th, 2013, in weekly free write #89, the prompt was “Second Chances”. This is a story about a second chance presenting itself to Hank while at the Academy and the way he goes about using that chance.
Premiering on August 2nd, 2011, in weekly free write #38, the prompt was a first line one. In this case it was “It had to be you” so I took the opportunity to tell this story about how Hank got kicked off his first ship. Told in 1st person present tense.
