Premiering on February 7th, 2013, in weekly free write #89, the prompt was “Second Chances”. This is a story about a second chance presenting itself to Hank while at the Academy and the way he goes about using that chance.
Premiering on August 2nd, 2011, in weekly free write #38, the prompt was a first line one. In this case it was “It had to be you” so I took the opportunity to tell this story about how Hank got kicked off his first ship. Told in 1st person present tense.
Premiering on January 14th, 2012, in weekly free write #58, the prompt was TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday). So, this is a story about Hank spending a Friday night with Bethany, told in 1st person present tense.
Premiering on January 19th, 2012, in weekly free write #59, the prompt was “AWOL”. So I did a story about young Bethany running away one night, right to Hank. Written in 3rd person present tense.
Premiering on February 2nd, 2012, in weekly free write #61, the prompt was “Good impressions”. Lil Black Dog wanted to see a story about Hank and Bethany’s first meeting and, though it had been referenced many times, it had never been written. Well, this is where it finally got put onto digital paper.

Captain Hank Harrison and his crew find they have some rare time off-no missions to do, no things to explore, just some time to sit and relax. But rather than enjoy his time, Hank starts to feel ill and isn't sure why.
The answer to his illness won't be one he likes.

2384: As the Alpha and Beta Quadrants continue to recover from the Dominon War, Starfleet moves ahead with the launch of a very special ship, the USS Pearl. Based on the unique design of the Enterprise-C, the Pearl is assigned to Captain Henry "Hank" Harrison and dispatched to a colony on the outskirts of the Federation, New Haven, to investigate a suspected Maquis plot.
What Hank and his crew discover is something far more dangerous ... and destructive.
