With the Defiant still in orbit, a visitor from the planet below has secretly beamed up to give Odo something that he had always denied himself.

Backstory:
In DS9's Children of Time, Odo and the crew of the Defiant, following a lengthy reconnaissance mission in the Gamma Quadrant, discover a strange planet surrounded by an energy barrier. Suspecting lifeforms were present, the Defiant attempts to land but is damaged and temporarily stranded in orbit. The crew is suddenly hailed from the surface by members of a large community that, as the crew soon discovers, are their own descendants, save one: Odo.
Odo, although 200 years older, is the same changeling he always was, but desperately alone since the loss of his beloved Kira Nerys, who was fated to die after only two weeks on the planet.
Will the crew keep their appointment with destiny to become the forefathers (and foremothers!) of over 8,000 descendants, or will the Defiant return to DS9 dooming the descendants to non-existence?
