Ah - and so he remembers a bit. If not affection, then there is certainly respect. And that might be all that he is capable of giving.
I like how you etch Chapel. There's more to her than lovesickness.
Author's Response: Thanks so much. You did get it!

Nice little backstory as to what happened between the crash-landing and the 'court martial.' Favorite line: "It's not the years, it's the light-years." Made me grin. That was so Jim Kirk.
Next to TWOK, this is my favorite movie, too. Nice to see all of them trying to function outside their comfort zones, and the subtle touches of humor reminded me of the series (Trouble With Tribbles, Piece of the Action, etc.).
You seem to have a fondness for the S/C relationship. Have you written about it in more detail? I think your take on it begs to be explored.

Author's Response: Thanks! I do have a fondness for the S/C relationship and am exploring it in some unconventional ways - that is, not the way most Trek writers approach it. I think it is murky and mysterious and no one really knows what the relationship really is. Mostly, I am on a quest to restore dignity to the Christine Chapel character - Spock is just a part of that. I simply haven't had the time to devote to it yet, but that is in the works. The second and third chapters for Sam Pengraff's "Unsung Heroes" took four months - but I got a huge charge out of doing it and learned much in the process. I enjoyed ST:TVH most because it resurrected the humor that was so much a part of TOS. Thanks again - I have been enjoying your stories and hope to get more reading accomplished over the holidays. It was the history, not the technology that was confusing her. That's a great way to put it. I love how we use Gillian's perspective ont hings to query the what not of the mixed reactions and relations here, especially in terms of Spock. I also loved the description about Spock and Savak and how despite their characteristics they had kind eyes. So many neat ways of putting things here. Loved this. TVH is a great movie for the flux it creates to the TOS team with Spock recovering still and everything up in the air about all of their fates and whether Spock would get better. This was done lovely, alot of warmth to it and charm and a good read.
Author's Response: Thank you for the kind words and for understanding what I was trying to convey. TVH is my favorite Star Trek movie! Gillian's point of view, as an independent and objective observer, is much ignored; I plan to use her more in my writing. Thanks for the review, KayCee
