Interesting. I have not read all of the backstory so I'm at a bit of a disadvantage but the idea of a nasty POW camp is a very, very good one (I'm a huge fan of old POW escape films like Stalag 17).

And you've got a character named Carmen! I do, too (but she'll show up a lot later -- probably because she was born in the 31st century).
