I love how you frame the Q's arguments about morality and responsibility. I've always had the thought that what we're reading in your stories is the most basic distillation of their conversation, pared down into something that we puny mortals could comprehend. The actual concepts, history, and theories they're bantering about would doubtless fry the brains of any insufficiently evolved species such as our own.
You've captured Q's palpable frustration here. He is merely doing that which he was created for, only to have his reasoning and actions thrown back in his face by his ‘turncoat' brother.
This piece helps set the stage not only for the episode ‘Deja Q' but for the coming Civil War in the Continuum as well by establishing some of the primary divisions within their society.
