That was fun! I always wonder why they don't end up taking natives with them when they leave (a jillion fanfics in my head over that question!). I liked how in such a short story you gave us 3 well-developed characters and a substantial look into a new civilization. Good work!

Finally managed to sit down and read this through; it's a very charming story! I didn't know what to make of it at first, but as I read more, I saw how it was coming together and greatly appreciated the ending. A real feel-good tale.
