OK, I'm intrigued. What the heck, 2 Chakotay's have swapped universes?

I must admit that I thought of the episode "Parallels" with Worf when still reading chapter one, part two. As soon as it was clear that two Chakotays were displayed, it became clear that it wasn't just one in some wrong place.

It had to be though for the one who lost Kathryn to have that reminder of what he had lost, but I wonder if it brought him some relief that there was a reality, in which she was still alive, that somewhere there in space-time continuum, she was fine and happy.

It's a shame that the story wasn't finished, but it seems like they found a solution and both "teams" were going to go with it. Though, I don't know if some complications could not happen. I hope that some day you'd return to this story and post the continuation or the "grand finale."

Fascinating game of parallels so far!

Ahh, OK...we've got 2 Chakotays that have switched places.  I can't wait to see if their doctors are able to discover what's going on.

I also wonder how they'll get back, if there's no anomaly and also no VISOR to facilitate the switch...?

Author's Response: Hey, thanks so much for the review :-) Everything will be explained in the coming chapters, I hope you'll like them too :-P

Heya ShannonSekeya, no big issues with the formatting. You had the exact opposite problem I usually have when I put up a story. Normally, I have extra line spaces between the paragraphs as opposed to just 'one' line space. Here, whatever you did, was simply paragraph under the next paragrap no line spaces. So it might depend on how you uploaded it or what programme you used or whether the original had spaces. And easily caught once you submit a story and check on it yourself.

Again, good story so far, and good luck with the rest. I figured, Janeway might have gone the way of the Pocket verse but wasn't too sure. Haven't read it [don't quite intend to either ;) ] Look forward to how you play it out in both universes.

Welcome to archive and be sure to head over to the forums and get involved and discover the many other stories and authors out there that you might like to read. Again welcome and good story. MF

Author's Response: Ah, okay, thanks :-) I'll keep that in mind, I usually just make no space between paragraphs, and FF.net inserts extra spaces automatically. I'm just not used to how things work here :-P And I've already started reading some interesting stories here :-) Thanks for the warm welcomes!

Woah! The Counsellor for Chakotay B believes him and the counsellor for Chakotay A is a complete prig!

So we are getting to see more differences here and quite a few there seems to be. But how deep are they in terms of the galaxy? How did Janeway die in Chakotay B's universe and why? And why is the counsellor with Chakotay B [I need better tags to differentiate or else I'm going to get very confused in my own review] so willing to belive somehting is wrong? Perhaps she is El Aurian like Guinan. Again, lots of mysteries here and no answers as yet. Liking the two handed approach to things and of course the impacts for both Chakotays.

Validated this chpater though there were formatting issues different from the first chapter - added in the line spaces between paragrpahs to make it more readable. Again, good stuff.

Author's Response: Thank you :-) I'm glad you like it. I don't remember if I give the explanation for KJ's death later on, but the universe in which she is dead is based on the Pocket Books verse, where she died after being assimilated by some big bad Borg supercube. I didn't like that, so I made my own universe in which things are much better for her and Chakotay :-) Can you tell me about the formatting issues, maybe I can fix them before I post the next chapter?

Oh dear. What is going on? So the Chak has been switched about in two different universes. That is going to cause some grief for both captains. It will be interesting to see how both versions fare out and what exactly is going on. I am alos intrigued as to what is happening in both universes and are there any other differences to be found. I've a feeling the switch about could be somehting to do with Bajor - but then again Q could be somehting of a pest to poor 'Chuckles'. Good to see Chakotay getting a bit of air time.

Author's Response: Thank you so much :-) I'm glad you are intrigued by this story, and I hope you'll like the rest of it.

Ahh, very interesting...I wonder, were you inspired by TNG's "Parallels" in any way?  Talk about a concept with infinite possibilities!

Author's Response: Thank you so much :-) Yes, TNG's "Paralells" is indeed an inspiration for this, but there was also a Doctor Who episode which inspired my with a similar concept. I really like this "infinite possibilities in infinite combinations" thing. Later, ShannenSekaya
