Wow. Just...wow. This is amazing. While I know the starships are highly intelligent, I've never thought of them having sentient conversations. Perhaps you should do a follow-up of the Enterprise-D's final moment.
Also, if you're interested in starship sentience, I strongly recommend you check out Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda.

Well, it was for a contest over at TrekBBS. I'm not so sure they're really THAT sentient (although we do know the ENT-D gave birth to...something... ;-) ). That's why it doesn't count as Sigils canon.

I love this. The Enterprise, finally given a voice, voicing the displeasure it has with Starfleet's insistence on kids on the ship.
