Interesting...and I like your comments about the 24th century.

Somehow I suspect AU Dukat would've fared better, in terms of understanding.

Then again, I wonder if it would be tough for them to be around each other.  For Peter and Saavik to share a certain pain, and then to be around AU Dukat, who also does...he'd have to be a rock indeed.  AU Dukat would not state any belief in being the kind of person Peter and Saavik are, but somehow, I suspect he'd accept it a lot more easily.

I wonder, though, what P & S would think of the fact that AU Dukat saved his child after what was done to him?  Maybe a sign that he comes from a universe with a bit more hope?

Author's Response:

They would admire him, having saved his child as they could not (Peter for Marc, Saavik for T'Shura). There is hope in the ADU, it's just harder to see.

I should like to know who he is speaking with... but pretty good for the challenge either way.

Author's Response:

The guy is a 24th Century-canon-timeline refugee, someone who ended up there and who was quickly targeted by the Hall for tech and knowledge. He is the type who would have been on the lower decks of any of the great ships, or their peers.
