I love the humor in this, especially toward the end. Best line: "I confess, much of the last few days is blurry in my memory. Perhaps you could refresh me as to what we have already done, so I would know what remains in the realm of 'creative' as opposed to 'tried and tested.'"

I also loved Uhura's challenge of T'Pring, because I hate T'Pring, I think she's a cold-hearted manipulative bitch, and I'd love to see Uhura kick her ass. I wish she'd gotten to, but hot sex with Spock is almost as good.

That was an interesting to see the "old setting" in "new reality." Quite cleverly resolved, too.

What grates on me, though, is that no one considered anything wrong with Spock and Uhura's relationship while he was still bonded with T'Pring. They had thought that T'Pring was dead, but their dating had started before the tragedy of Vulcan. Is it that it would be illogical to brood over it? Still, I expected the Vulcans to have some sense of morality that accompanies their logic.

At least it was all solved in a fairly peaceful manner, no dead count and leaving everyone happy...although no Vulcan would admit to being happy ;)

Author's Response: I don't think Spock and Uhura were actually *dating* until after Vulcan fell. He was her instructor; as much as he might have been attracted to her, he would have considered the conflict of interest illogical. They were obviously mutually interested and he knew it, but he wouldn't have seen the need to disclose that he was betrothed to another because hey, they aren't actually dating. Then when Vulcan was destroyed and he turned to Uhura for emotional support, he would have been convinced T'Pring was dead (and I'm not sure that in that moment of need he would have cared anyway.)

Sweet - I like it when two somewhat disparate stories and lines and timelines come together. It does work out rather nicely although there's that sticky matter of Nurse Chapel. My oh my, will Nyota have to actually fight her? Now, that would provide some interest, I would say.

Thank you for an interesting read. Well-done take on Uhura in particular.
