I have no idea exactly who the narrator is, though I know that's because I just haven't been able to go catch up on the Thirteenth Order again yet. But you did a really great job, as usual, with drawing out a whole culture, a whole ideal, into one short story. It thrilled me a bit, too, the covert ops. ::grins:: The bed screw reminded me a bit of Scott's toothpick.

Any which way, as always you deliver a very well-wrapped package with an ending that touches the heart deeply. Great work, Nerys!
