That's somehow adorable! I've softened my stance on the Nu!Scott by divorcing him as a total AU can-never-be-the-Definitive!Scotty, and this is an absolutely endearing tale. Loved the insights into Gaila's backstory, and how she observed the different blushing responses. Really, really loved the whole mild skewering of the meme about Vulcan blushing.

The resolution was cute and satisfying; it's warm, good-natured, and the very ending line is a knock out of the ballpark. Great work!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I was really nervous about writing Scotty, since I hadn't before in any timeline. But as a kid, I remember 'shipping him and Mira Romaine, and I always wanted him to actually get the girl at least ONCE (sadly, Uhura doesn't count, so I hated STV with a passion). I love the idea that he and Gaila would confound expectations and confuse onlookers, and be blissfully happy up to their elbows in warp engine parts.
