An interesting take on the Locarno-Paris "problem." Not a fan of the "identical twin cousin" concept just because it's impossible, but then again, so are lots of things in Trek, and Nick and Tom canonically look exactly alike, so what are you going to do? You've got a busy mind, and this was an enjoyable read. Nice job.

You are correct. The cousin thing between them is just to establish a connection. My main thing was to nail down all the people we've all known who dodge trouble by seeming to confront it just enough for appearances' sake, making themselves look good. Nick is one of the few things I agree with the TPTB on; he was too sleazy for us to like.
