Man, this little ficlet threw me a loop. I'm often interested in what fan fiction authors think the Enterprise-E crew was doing during the Dominion War aside from handling every diplomatic crisis not relating to the Dominion War.
I still couldn't help laughing while reading through this little story. Goofing off on Risa does sort of make sense. I especially enjoyed Worf's assessment of his DS9 colleagues--especially Bashir and Garak trying to hide that they're an item--and the crack about Riker interested in "keeping the counselor's figure."
Some good-natured satire of the TNG crew, I'll say, especially the closing line about surrendering Risa. :)

Oh dear. What a terrible treatment of the TNG crew - mind it all technically fits within canon. It for example explains why Wes was wearing the Starfleet uniform in Nemesis. And Worf's evaluation of the DS9 crew is somewhat near to the mark if one were cutting enough to think in that way. Hee hee.
Author's Response: Beverly's response to JLP was a riff on a classic Snoopy piece. Given their recent appearance on Family Guy, I wonder if the TNG cast would actually do this as a con-skit.

You are completely insane. And yet, I'm laughing. I thought the funniest bits were Deanna's empty mailbox (dark humor, that!) and Worf's assessment of the DS9 staff ... oh, and Riker seemed very in character.
We will all die before surrendering Risa, indeed! Twistedly funny.
Author's Response: Of course, the TNGers would never act like this, but I had fun twisting their usual firm morals, and I'm glad you did while reading it.
