Thanks. It remains one of my favorite short pieces. It was easy to pick the exact moment of 'Gumping', since there were so many people in that scene, he could have conceivably been there.

I liked that a lot. :-) You captured the warmth of Forrest Gump that I remember from the movie, and the narrative style, too. And it seemed like a perfect insertion into the movie! :-)

Author's Response: That was exactly my intent. I have another story where he was treated at a Vietnam-era medical unit run by a slightly older Hawkeye and Hot Lips.
