You did a great job on this. I was chuckling the whole time. And, yes, I've seen that movie. Inspiration indeed. I like how Neelix ad-libbed Chakotay to near-panic.

Author's Response: Thanks. A great 'little' movie with only one major logistical flaw. Not too many eps captured Voyager's total isolation and vulnerability, and this was an aim as well. Each time I've revised it, I've tried to edit in the reasons 'why didn't they just?' and this may be the ultimate result, save for the fact that they maybe should have just kept moving and stopped listening to the broadcast. A Starfleet Officer's ability to accept a harsh reality can be just as big a problem as it is usually is an asset. Glad to see this works.
