A terrible fate for a controversial Trek character. I really appreciated the agony Amanda was suffering, having to sit and watch and do nothing to prevent or reverse the tragedy. You’ve certainly captured the feel of too many humans packed into far too small a space very well.

This just keeps getting more and more grim. I was thoroughly intrigued by the notion of Wesley and Amanda; also really liked his maturity here in all this. Even if it didn't end well. My only suggestion would be to lay off the italics a bit; after awhile, they start to get distracting. Otherwise, very engaging read.
