Wow blow me down. This was very good. The ending was perhaps a little too Hollywood for me. Personally, the scenes with Sarak, Pike and even NuKirk were very effective and had the story ended at that point I would whole heartedly have endorsed it. Nevertheless, this is quite touching and I love the introspection Spock Prime has and how he compares both universes and maps out the possibilities and the what happened. Very engrossing and very well done.

I'm not sure I agree with some things, characterization-wise (like that Pegg's version is anything remotely close to Doohan's Scotty ;-) ), but I really do like you showing Spock's struggle with his displacement. It seems that many fics just gloss right over how much he's actually LOST here, especially at the end of his life and separated by all those he had built his life around. Nice work, and welcome again to Ad Astra!
Author's Response: That's right, you're a Scotty fan... quite honestly, I was too busy obsessing over Nimoy's authentically wrinkly ears to pay any attention to how close or otherwise Pegg's Scotty was to Doohan's. But the whole fic is in desperate need of revision. I cringe whenever I read my soppy Christine parts o.O Anyway, thank you very much!
