A rich tale of friendship, loss, intrigue, and denial.

It was fantastic to see Spock and McCoy again, the two friends bickering still many decades after their tour aboard Enterprise ended.

The cameo at the wedding was a nice surprise, though in retrospect it shouldn't have been.  I think you struck the perfect balance in the reasoning behind the ceremony, and why Picard's single reference to it in 'Sarek' was all we have ever 'officially' learned about the event.

Though in places the story strays uncomfortably close to slash (in my opinion), it is otherwise a flawless gem of fanfic.  Thanks for sharing!

Author's Response: LOL. Thanks, Sam, I appreciate you taking time to comment. You know, normally, I apologize when I make someone uncomfortable. But this time, I can't in all honesty bring myself to it. This is the way I write and I don't think slash is a flaw per se, either. So, sorry, but I'm not sorry, forgive the pun. ;-) Thank you for reading. :)

*runs in* Jean-Luc!!!! SQUEE! Sorry. Just a moment of ZOMGAWESOME! LOL. I loved this... I adored the converstion between Spock and Saavik the most. And the K/S references and the 'conversation' at the end! Loved it! Very well done!!! :)

Author's Response: Thank you very much, you're too kind to me as usual. ;-)

Oh geez. You kill me. This is a gem from start to finish -- the beautiful and amazing T'Aine, who has to be some kind of relative of my T'Shae. The careful weaving of words. The mental conversation with his own internal Jim Kirk. McCoy's thoughts on the whole matter. The cameo by Jean-Luc. Saavik. Yes, I loved all of it; it was smart and well-written and surprisingly light in many parts.

Author's Response: Light wasn't ever my problem. ;-) I'm glad you liked it.
