what would you think if kang had an affair with a half romulan and half human that produced a son that looked romulan but with a beautiful tan skin color and was raised by his mother in the federation. the son later chooses to be a starfleet captain, named Anthony James Kirk, because he is adopted by Captain James Tiberius Kirk because he is a friend of the mother and he repects kang.

I've seen 'Day of the Dove' but have not read "Pawns and Symbols', so here's a short review from that point of view:
The final line is powerful, and you arrive at it very economically. Kang's dilemma is made perfectly clear, but what is ever-loyal Mara facing, and has Kang told her how he feels?
A nice story as it stands or a nice intro into something longer.

I don't know if I ever got to see the second one, but I love them both. You show a really cool side to Kang, and it makes me wanna go read that book again so bad.
