Mwaha! Very funny and well done! And yeah, that must be some pretty nasty stuff to drink, but it's diplomacy. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. You did justice to the Big Three, even if it was partially at Kirk's expense. But you did give him a break and let him sleep it off. :)

Thanks for the ride!

Author's Response: Hi IntrepidSovereign! Just read your bio on the forums yesterday - welcome aboard! I'm pleased the 'big three' rang true in this, and so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the feedback - it really inspires this novice to want to continue. ;-)

LMAO! I loved this one. I could totally see Kirk being drunk like that and all. ;) Nicely done!

Author's Response: It was a fun chance to catch our captain in a moment of weakness that wasn't his fault. Thanks for reading and reviewing - it means everything!

I am impressed. You captured the gestalt of the Big Three's relations to each other, presented a serious plot in a humorous way and finished with just the right touch of sentimentality.

Author's Response: Your praise is inspiring! I wasn't sure it would come off the way I intended. Good to know it wasn't too over-the-top. Thanks for reading and reviewing - makes me want to keep at this, being a newbie and all. ;-)

Who knew getting pie-faced could be such an intergalactic challenge?! A great set up for Kirk. Although in your notes you said this was humorous at Kirk's expense, I must say you treated him kindly, despite treating him so awfully by subjecting him to that concoction.

The concern and attention shown by McCoy and Spock to their friend was touching and real and out weighed the comical cost to Kirk. That's not to say it wasn't funny, it was a hoot, all too much of a hoot as I got strange looks for laughing out loud. However, their genuine friendship meant I didn't think Kirk was being made light of or cheapened by the story.

So many great moments. Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm so glad it didn't come off as too hard on Jim - I like the guy, really I do! I was so worried that it wouldn't be funny, and I'm pleased that it came off as such. Taking the time to read and comment is greatly appreciated. I'm new at this, and feedback inspires me to keep working.

I´m sorry, but if it was me who has to drink that.....orders be damned!, along with intergallactic public relations or whatever they called them. I´m sure when Kirk saw the "thing" he had some thoughts about how really a suitable sustitute would have been Spock....or somebody whose name doesn´t beggin with a K.
V.
Yeah, I know. Murder in the worst degree. Victim, english language.

Author's Response: Well, you know Jim Kirk - never one to shirk his duty! LOL! I'm sure Spock wound up being greatly relieved that Jim turned down his offer. I wouldn't call it murder, per se...maybe flogging...with a wet noodle. Your meaning was perfectly clear and the sentiment greatly appreciated, my friend. Thanks for reading and reviewing - it means a lot.

Oh, that was a great deal of fun :D And you had some great decriptive lines in there. An 'explosion of puss' had me ewwing out loud. It certainly communicates what it needs too ::grin::

I also found myself giggling alot. Kirk's face first dive off the transporter platform was hilarious. And the image of Jim Kirk arm in arm with his first officer, tottering down the corridor was highly amusing. Poor Spock...you had to make Jim vomit all over the poor man's shoes, didn't you :D And I'm sure the Jim Kirk version of Beyond Antares was just as pleasant for our poor Vulcan. And people say I'm mean to my characters, but look at this ::giggle::

Thanks so much for the smiles and giggles. This was a fun ride, thanks for letting me join you in it.

Nutty
(still grinning)

Author's Response: It's funny - I posted this, headed over to the forums, and saw your request for stories centering around Kirk, with Spock and McCoy, in either a h/c or humor genre. I had to laugh! Hopefully, this fit the bill? It was loads of fun to write, and was actually inspired by a TOS blooper reel on youtube where Shatner can be heard giggling...like a girl! I thought it'd be neat to find a reason for Jim to laugh that way...and voila! Anna's challenge gave me the excuse I needed. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :-D And as for New Voyages - they are terrific, aren't they? Yep, I have originals, bought 'em new...*sigh* my age is showing ;-)

You have still concocted the most nasty drink in the known universe. LOL! I don't even know how you typed that description! I liked the ritual, and the way they ratified the treaty; a set-up for humor, but also a neat bit of world-building.

Author's Response: Just a light-hearted bit of fun. It was a blast to write, and I'm glad that fun shone through in the reading of it. Yeah, remind me never to go into a bar on Pollux VI...
