That almost begs for a missing scene from Generations where Kirk is talking, then gets a funny look on his face and goes, "...you're THAT Picard?!"
Author's Response: Heh. I think there was too much going on during Kirk and Picard's brief interaction, but if Kirk had lived, I could totally see that coming up. :-)
