This is one of my favorite bits about your Scotty. I still remember the first time I read this. You really hammered home the low self-esteem he was suffering post court martial and how hard it was for him to accept the gesture by Cor's mom. Like most of your "Wolf" stories, it left me on the verge of blubbering, sentimental fool that I am.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! This was one of my favorites, too; it reminded me of summer, from when I was younger; cracked pavement and sunlight and that breathless quality of not always being sure what world you're in, but still... breathing.
