That's a nice little prologue here, particularly liked how you connected the two scenes which take place years apart.

My only recommendation would be regarding formatting. It is generally accepted to add a line break after a paragraph when posting stories here and in most other online places. Makes them much easier to read in lieu of having indented text.

Great start, curious to read more!
