Those two cheated death so often I'm sure they did feel somewhat invincible. I love the feeling of hope in the last paragraph. Very nice.

This is indeed a nice touchstone piece and a further great exploration of Spock. I like how through all these ficlets we are progressing through Spock's lifetime and hitting some of the big moments and this would indeed be one of them.
