Oh, uninlightened Spock. He has to put himself - and his friends - through hell to find himself. He could be strangely naive at times.
Having said that, it' true he never wanted command, and with Kirk stuck on Earth, I don't think a future as the Enterprise's captain appealed to him at all. That, too, would have played a part in him choosing to leave.

Wow. That reads so like Spock, so in character. That's uncanny. Especially in the written word because our inner monologues which become our words on paper do be different to our spoken words for all the similarities. What you present is really well done and between every line we can read so much more. Super.

What a touching and realistic portrayal of Spock's thinking leading into his Kohlinar training. You did a great job of presenting his thought process and his reasoning, especially as to why he hasn't approached Kirk or McCoy directly. Very well done!

*Sad face* Ever logical, ever rationl, but still hurtful all the same. Spock resigning because of all the emotions (and especially because of the ones towards Kirk and McCoy) probably hurt Kirk like nothing else. Good job capturing Spock's resasoning here.
