I've been on a bit of a Spock vs McCoy kick lately, in the sense that I want to see how their relationship works beyond the bluster. I think they actually had some of the most enlightening/insightful character moments on the series when they weren't plain sniping and point-scoring.

Sometimes it's nice to see them disuss their differing POVs calmly and without namecalling.

You have a nice handle on both characters here.

Awesome. Really. I really like this. very polished, very nuanced, very in character and very tightly written. Excellent.

Ah, classic Spock/McCoy, a lesson for McCoy this time around and a point for Spock in the long running debate. Score one for the Vulcan.

Nice bit of conversation. The two of them managed to speak without McCoy's usual "bluster". But following Spock's final comment, I can well imagine McCoy getting wrought up, all over again. Spock knows how to get under his skin, and I don't think McCoy will let him have the last word.

More Spock superiority, I see. He's right that he's asked McCoy for suggestions before, and McCoy is certainly too much of a complainer at times. I never liked how he often ended up on the Bridge during crises and then would fret and essentially get in the way. I like McCoy, and I don't begrudge the screen time, but Spock's right - the doctor just isn't that helpful in such circumstances.

You really have a great handle on the McCoy/Spock relationship and their voices. Great job giving us a little more closure on this scene. Well done!

And hope is such a human emotion.  :-)

I say this in McCoy's voice:  "Mr. Spock, there may be hope for you yet."
