People talk about attention to detail, but Nerys I gotta hand it to, at times I think you actively seek out details to write about. You must talk about this in your sleep. LOL. Anyway, a well thought out essay that drives at exactly what you wanted to present.

Ha, MOST of the time I'm not so bad that this stuff invades my dreams. (Though I DO get sci-fi/fantasy dreams, to include BsG and Trek.)
I am just compulsive about the details having to make sense. I didn't always like it when on Trek some of the episode writers just wrote diseases for the hell of it with unexplained, weird symptomology, so I wanted to do something a bit more grounded in something like reality. (I will admit, however, to having an explanation of Yarim Fel syndrome and what exactly it is, in my back pocket for use at a later date.)

Thanks! Though I have no medical background, I wanted it to read kind of like what you might find on Wikipedia or WebMD (or the 24th-century equivalent). I'm glad you felt it resembled that form. :-)

Of course, I'm no doctor, so I'm not exactly sure how accurate this would REALLY be (plus I have no idea what a phaser hit would really do if such a thing were physically possible). But I'm very glad it came off in a plausible manner! :-)
