Well that was a nice slice of life from your trek-verse. It was good to see Spock and Tess bond over the music of the Piano. The prose show your usual writing skill. Despite being a short story the pacing was spot on. Tess fascination with the music and piano starting as an unexpected problem to developing into an unexpected gift.

The final paragraph about listening was a nice cherry on top of this cake of a story.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the story of Tessie's hidden talent emerging. That last bit about listening came through in a late rewrite. I particularly enjoyed that part, too.
