I've often considered doing parables for alien species, but have never actually gotten around to doing so. I really like this piece; it's not too long, which would overpower the "short and concise" formula for most religious tales designed to be passed around via an oral tradition. At the same time, there's a lot of detail and symbolism inherent as well.
Author's Response: Thank you for reading my parable. I have often wondered myself how Cardassians view their history and civilization choices.

This made me smirk. A perfect little fable, very on the nose with its message, with little subtlety and exactly the kind of thing one would think Cardassian parents would likely tell their children before going to sleep.
Author's Response: Thank you. I am glad you like it. Here is quote that I love: “Life did not intend to make us perfect. Whoever is perfect belongs in a museum.†E.M. Remarque
