Holodeck therapy after a bad breakup? How come Counselor Troi has never prescribed this? A terrific idea and so very therapeutic. Sure the main stream media would blame the occasional phaser rampage on holodeck violence but hey, no reason not to blow off some steam.

I like these vignettes for the fact they allow you to peek into past chapters of the characters that aren't integral to the story you are telling but do offer more on the characters themselves. Here we see Felicia being full of win. In fairness, I don't have much sympathy for Trish but I never really do for dumped characters (I blame Dawson's Creek for ruining that angst potential for me! LOL) As I say, Felicia is the support player but she comes up with a solution - and one that ignores the rules and proper protocols when it comes to the holodeck. You gotta love that.

A nice little character background vignette which in itself does not offer a great deal of background. I'm left wondering a little bit what exactly happened to Max and the Klingon woman that got them into this position in the first place.

But hey, no better way to impress a few Klingons and make new friends then besting one of them in honorable combat, even if he used a little bit of a ruse to do it.

And as Max will soon find out, it's good to have Klingon friends.

An interesting introduction to both men here. Obviously, not the best start to their relationship. And just how long can one postpone a fight and maintain honour? Hmm. Will the shoe drop some day and they end up having to finish the quarrel - this time to the death?

Apart from that, it was a good fight scene. It was rough and tough and no clean sword fighting here. You showed Max as being hampered in the fight by the unusual weapon and how he was drained by the exertion of swinging the Bat'leth too. It add a gritty bloody tone to the proceedings that made it a better fight to read. Of course, he's a Starfleet captain so he has to 'win' in the end. However, he failed to get his uniform tunic ripped. Like he did he not study Kirk fighting 101 at the Academy?
