Ah, that was well done. I love the idea that the TMP colors caused depression (much like TMP itself, lol) and that it was high time to get rid of the damn things. I love the colors of the TWOK era and seeing Spock come up with the logical solution was well done. I like the way you address the Sulu/Spock stuff here as well, as it makes more sense to me this way.

Superb.

Thanks for the read! So glad you liked it! Yes, I found TMP depressing, too. What genius came up with that color scheme? And as mentioned, I also tweeked the scenes involving Sulu in "Cristabeth", which you originally reviewed. And of course the ending contains a direct lead-in to "Cristabeth" and also mentions a new crewmember whose picture was corrupted--the doctor who will eventually become Spock's wife.

As a designers and someone who had to take color theory and color pshych at art school I can relate to this story. Nice job. Interesting play between Kirk and Spock, Kirk not wanting to give up his girl, but Spock feeling that Kirk belongs there.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reading and commenting! I had long been bothered by the bland world of ST:TMP. What "genius" came up with those colors (or lack thereof)? At least now we know what genius uncovered the problem and set it right!
