An interesting tale. Apparently Roan was successful in keeping some measure of her humanity. A vital part of her psyche must have found shelter in the church she constructed, and her prayers were indeed answered when the phaser beam hit her, releasing her fully from the Borg hell.

I like they way you included Seven of Nine, and the Voyager crew at the end. I also thought it interesting that a Vulcan was easier to assimilate than a spunky human. Perhaps the logical Vulcan would agree that "resistance was futile"? I wonder if anyone has written a story about Spock facing assimilation. Now there's an idea...

Author's Response: An interesting idea indeed. But I shudder at the mere thought of doing something like that to Spock. So if that story is ever written, I doubt that it will be by me.

A good concept, but the bottom line is that assimilation is total. You need to explore HOW she resisted better. IMO

Author's Response: I would like to, but I don't know how. My muse didn't tell me that. Thanks for the 2 cents.
