proof to a point that the centre chair is the loneliess part of the ship. Always hope after mistakes perceived or imagined. Nice little piece.

All around a nice piece, FB and a perfect fit for the challenge.  Call me an old softie, but these are the pieces I like best - those 'slice-of-life' bits or introspection pieces that get to the heart of the characters.  Action-based stories have their place, but these are the types that touch my soul.

And I think we can say here that it's obvious Emmylou and Xenktid have been friends for years - the easy way they communicate and seem to know what's bothering the other or what to say to cheer that person up.  Very nice work! :D

Author's Response: Thank you for the positive feedback & your Beta help to make this one so special. I'm glad I manage to get there friendship to seem real to you. :-)

I'm not famiar with the characters, but nice little slice of starship life. And I liked the poem, too!

Author's Response: A double thank you. The prime verse of both characters can be found in my "Remembrance 2409 story" if you like.

Poor Emmylou. I can't imagine being called a Gul and commanding a dismal Cardy ship. Good entry, Bill! I enjoyed it.

Author's Response: Thank you

Lovely use of the line Flasebill to begin proceedings. And it was very poetic verse at that. Especially fitting since it seems to fit with Xenktid's culture from what I could gather.

Again, the AuNuTrek Next Gen vibe of this piece is quite enthralling, hooking the reader into the possibilities of this myriad universe. It's terrific to see you revisit EmmyLou. She's an intriguing character, full of rich backstory and a full bodied character able to carry many a story on her shoulders. It will be interesting to see it developed and to see the cast you assemble around her and see if they hold a light to her.

Author's Response: Thank you Miranda Fave. Glad you like the vibe of the piece and are a fan of AuNu Trek Next Gen Emmylou. I think and hope that both she and Xenktid will return with their support casts in the future.
