I'm not familiar with the characters, but it's a nice story and very well written. It makes me want to learn more about the blue-skinned girl. Half Andorian? No wiggling antennas were mentioned. And definately a human name--one that I like and have used for a girl in my own series.

He is already so clearly Captain Hank Harrison even at this age, going around to check on his 'crew'. A sweet bit of characterization, and young Hank and Bethany are so damn cute. It seems like such a casual meeting. And yet, not quite.

Ah, Hank. Yeah, he's always been the type to talk to people and hear them out. He likes to talk. Loves it. A bit of the captain in him here and the meeting between the two is classic stuff (based on a real experience of mine in many ways). From one misstep comes a lifetime of friendship, love, and fun.
