Oh joyous. Melody and lullaby together and the image (indeed the sound) of Scotty singing to the ship, pitch perfect no doubt to harmonise with the warp engines, is such a sweet scene to think of - indeed of you to conjure.

However, I love seeing this little insight into Cait Barry too and seeing a glimpse of where she came from and who she is - the young cadet seeking comfort of a blanky gone now as the assured chief engineer and the woman who has now learned some of the lessons of how to treat and entreat with Scotty and avoids the pitfall of making her presence known to Scotty.

Author's Response: It's TAS canon that he sings Welsh, and the song is gorgeous he's singing here, albeit hard to find the sound file for. And thanks so much. I really liked getting to know her better myself, and no doubt there are more tales with this auburn-haired Chief in the ether.
