Seem Kirk knew what the young Vulcan wanted.
Like Kirk felt the need to get Scotty to do the transport rather than trust the locals.
Again a lot of story in a short piece. Well Done
Author's Response: Well, knowing Spock as long as he has, it stands to reason that he'd be pretty good at reading Vulcans. And Kirk doesn't know that the kid at the controls is sort of ex-Starfleet. (Oops! Spoiler! Sorry.) And the 71 Pike Place thing actually came off a coffee package. It's pretty appropriate, though.

Author's Response: Kirk will not change until he is dead, which won't be for a while, since we have observed on many previous occasions that he is damned hard to kill.
