I JUST realised this was marked as not complete. When it is. But that's fixed now.

Wow...she wasted no time getting down to business. One would think that...with all of these Captain's Women running around assassinating their captains...that they'd get a little bit smarter and stop keeping them?
Not bad though. A nice epilogue of sorts to the Mirror Mirror episode, and a neat way to show the start of the revolution. I've been spending a lot of time in SLWalker's mirror universe, so it's really interesting to see another writer's take on how events happened after that episode. Now, can Spock keep Marlena in line? Or is he going to be another victim of the Captain's Woman?
Author's Response: Begging for spoilers, my pretty? *Evil Laugh* Sorry. Ain't getting none. Glad you liked.

As a fan of the original Mirror Universe Was Good to see Kirk words did hit Marlena as well as Spock.
Nice little story that does indeed intrigue me to what happened next.
Forward to the revolution.
Author's Response: Thank you. There is a sequel to this story. It's called Who Is The Fairest.

The word 'sucks' does clang in here, I should tell you. TOS not only sounds differently because of the era it was made (long before such a word was slang for 'stinks'), but also because the language tends to be considerably more formal.
But that is my sole objection to what you have written here.
The 'what happens next?' question is a, dare I say, logical one, not only here but at the end of a lot of canon episodes. TOS in particular lends itself well to such speculation because nearly all of the episodes were one-offs. Only, really, were the two Mudd episodes, or The Cage and then The Menagerie (which is an enhanced recutting anyway) offer any semblence of episode to episode continuity.
And consequences.
For Marlena - and probably for many of the female denizens of the Mirror Universe (as Uhura finds out when she tempts Sulu and then slaps him) - sex is a weapon and a bargaining chip. With, possibly, little else to offer, they trade their bodies for status, wealth, power, prestige and protection. A pretty face isn't just an asset in the mirror - it's a downright necessity.
And, of course, at the end of your story, the next question is 'what happens next?'
Well done.
Author's Response: Thanks Jes. I think we share the same policy for writing MU: "It's a tough place to live, but not everybody is evil." As for the use of the word "Sucks", The people in my stories tend to talk the way people generally talk, unless, of course, it just doesn't fit with the character. That's just one of the ways the author comes through in the characters. And this story does have a sequel.

This is a nice start, and most definitely how it must have happened. So pleased that Marlena saw the writing on the wall, too. She can really be an asset to Spock - depending on how long she was Kirk's woman, she'd know a lot of intimate details about things to which Spock might not have been privy. Question is, can the two of them learn to trust one another in a world where misplaced trust can be your undoing - literally?
Carry on, madam - this intrigues already. :-)
Author's Response: The MU is a tough place to live, and therefore its denizens are pretty damn tough as well, but that doesn't mean everyone is evil.

THat's pretty close to how I've imagined it...
Author's Response: Great minds think alike?

Nice...can't wait to see what happens here. Her "current" position also inclued being "the captain's woman". When Spock becomes captain, does she become his woman?? More!
Author's Response: Yes, but it's more of a title than anything else. At least for now.
And more is coming.
