Nice a little expansion of Beverly's backstory and I'm glad someone is writing for Beverly Crusher, she had some potential what with her ties to Picard and the trauma of losing her husband, plus she could be bad-ass when need be!
Also Beverly was one of those more normal characters, she didn't have any special abilities or any particular fame or reputation (something which I call the O'Brien quality), so I'm looking forward to seeing how you develop this character!

Very nice, Mac. As usual, you manage to breathe life into the character, make us celebrate her triumphs and tragedies, feel her moments of loss, and transition. I really feel that of all the characters in TNG, Beverly is the one I know best thanks to you. Keep up the good work.

Love your exploration of the younger Beverly Crusher, you certainly write her character very well. Certainly a very underused character that got sidelined quite a bit in the movies, which is sad. Glad to see you fleshing her out more.

Ah, so this is where BC was after she left Starfleet. It's nice to see that she settled down for a little while to let Wes grow up a bit, give him a place to live and get to know people. I'm interested to see if Wes has any issues with leaving his friends behind and how BC reacts to being on a starship again after being on Earth for awhile.
Author's Response: This was more or less tying in with earlier prompts I've done. I imagine Wesley has his problems though I don't think I've ever really involved him much at the moment, largely as I've written post-Nemesis.

I like this. We don't see much of Beverly in stories or otherwise, and seeing this atmospheric little piece was a delightful read. I like the history hinted at, and the future promised at.
Author's Response: My thanks. I've been 'bringing her back' for a while, trying to fill in the gaps and this hints at it I guess. I suspect much of these ficlets will be Crusher-centric :)
