You're doing a great job of showing how the conditions are wearing on people... it's hard to sit and wait and not know what will happen. I'm not surprised everyone's talking about death--that was a good insight on your part. It makes ME feel better to know that the Enterprise is supposed to be there, but the poor crew doesn't have that information! I'm very curious to get back to Captain Archer now and see what he's thinking and doing.

Author's Response:

Thank you. I've felt that, at least at first, they'd all engage in that parlor game. As for Archer - he's got a ton on his mind, you'll see.

This is a great beginning. I love how you immediately deal with the mundane details, but don't let us get bogged down in them. The overarching conflict is still there and driving the plot. As a writer I have a terrible time striking that balance, so good job!

Author's Response:

Oh, thank you! This concept (it's canon, but I've stretched it quite a bit) has spawned 4 freakin' books. It was a lot of great  stuff to work with.

I have gotten this far and it is great. You have addressed the issues the crew faces as a generational ship admirably. I'm thinking its going to leap ahead a bit soon-that's kind of what you seem to be building towards, but however it goes< I hope you add to it soon...

Author's Response:

Oh, thank you so much! There's plenty more to go. :)

The next story in the series is Entanglements.
