Ah, a wedding! Those are always sweet to end on.

And now Anna will be back at the Academy and it'll all be fixed. This story does help to answer some of my questions from your other stories. Good to know that things are on the right track!

Well, like a lot of what they used to call confirmed bachelors, Jim needed a nudge, almost like an ultimatum to get going, and to realize his feelings.

Those Klingons are trouble, though! Better keep an eye out.

This was a very Kirk chapter. You nailed him and his actions. I could totally see Kirk rounding up his posse and getting them to help prepare a wedding gift for his wife. The revelation about Anna’s past was a surprise, but Kirk too it very well and acted up it. He knew what he had to do and he did it. Anna’s father isn’t the nicest guy to Kirk but his reluctance to give them his blessing is understandable. He obviously held a very high opinion of her former husband and still holds out hope, in some fashion, that the man will return.

But Anna knows he won’t. She’s moved on but still has an anchor, a weight, attached to her past. It’s pretty remarkable that Starfleet sold her down the river for what happened but it’s not without precedent. Starfleet likes to punish innocent people for crimes and has done this through its history. It’s one of those things that bug me beyond belief about canon.

But Kirk cleared her name, in true Kirk fashion, and Scotty cuffed the guy. McCoy came in with the late save and then the wedding. What a beautiful wedding scene you constructed here, with Kirk and co. waiting for Anna to come strolling down the aisle and lighting up the room. The vows the two exchanged were quite nice and brought a smile to my face. Spock officiating the wedding was a stroke of genius and I was quite pleased on how all this turned out. This was a sweet story.

Well, what do we have here? I’m backtracking as I read the latest entry into this series before, so now I’m here at the beginning and quite a setup you have here. Kirk and co. about the second Enterprise and now they have holodecks (nice touch). Kirk and Anna, two officers who have been dating awhile (apparently in secret judging from Bones and Spock’s reactions) and are intimately involved with one another. They both obviously love each other with the way their interactions are written, tender feeling in each movement the two have with one another. But Anna comes on a bit strong, which I like (as Kirk often feels like the stronger of the involved parties with girls) and kinda scares Kirk off. Marriage is a big step, especially for a Starfleet captain.

It comes as no surprise to me that it takes a desperate situation for Kirk to realize his true feelings.  Often times it’s only when the situation requires pinpoint focus that Kirk comes to important realizations and it’s no different here. He deftly deals with the Klingons, figures out what their after, and goes back to his quarters to get the one thing you need for a proposal: a ring. So, Kirk and Anna are gonna be wed.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this marriage works out in the beginning. Both are coming off past relationships that ended in tragedy (and for Kirk he’s had many, many relationships that have ended poorly) and both are have been taking this pretty slow (especially by Kirk standards) for the last eighteen months. I’m wondering how this is gonna affect Kirk’s command style as it just has to when you have someone aboard the ship. Being married, aboard a starship, is tough thing to pull off. It often ends badly. I don’t think it will here since I read ahead but it has to be a worry for both characters.

An interesting fresh take on the Kirk mythos here...I hope you continue with this storyline...

There are a couple points of dialog where two people are talking in the same paragraph. It might confuse some of the readers if you do it that way...

But..anyway...great job! More!
