I love the nuanced view into life in the twenty-fourth century, all from the perspective of someone who probably feels stares boring into her back wherever she walks. I also love the themes and feeling of it; you did atmosphere really well, here, and I felt like I was walking with Eris through New York. Nicely done!

That was a nice little story about an exiled enemy agent. It's certainly hard to imagine Eris being able to return to the Dominion after the war, but she's certainly willing to make a new life for herself.

From some of the other comments, I do agree that even in the "enlightened 24th century", humanity certainly couldn't overcome prejudices against alien races that fought on the other side in a war overnight.

Intriguing to see the familar faces in a different environment. Never easy for aliens on Earth, even in the 24th Century, even these people.

It was nice to see Eris being able to move on with her life despite the fact that Liska will be absent from it for a number of years.  Like jespah, I too liked the allusions to veiled prejudice.  While the people in her apartment building were most accepting and did all they could to make Eris and Prilla feel welcome, there are those who still have a tough time dealing with the 'enemy.'

I agree - much as I'd so like to see Gene's vision realized, I find it hard to believe that it will ever come to fully pass.  Unfortunately, prejudice isn't like an illness; can't be cured or eradicated with a vaccine...

Have to say, was really impressed with this one. You focused on some serious issues that Trek kinda glossed over -- genetic engineering for one, human society's feelings about clones for another -- and it made for a good discussion on the subjects. Good job :)

I really loved this.  Seeing Eris in this new situation was fascinating and I loved the deeper look at post-war Earth.  A wonderful contender for this challenge.  Very, very well done.

Author's Response: Even the Dominion War can bring back some prejudices. Thank you very much for the feedback.

Ah, perhaps a happy (or at least semi-happy) fate awaits!

I love the prejudice (that sounds weird), as I feel we just aren't going to 100% get past that, even in the future. Well done.

Author's Response: One thing I dislike Gene for is "There is no conflict on Earth! Earth is a paradise! Now write drama!" If there is no conflict amongst the crew, there is no drama. Thanks for the feedback. This is something of a prequel for what I'm working on.
