JLP, now that was an interesting dominion story you let Eris shine in her own light as a junior Vorta, as the others seek glory by murdering innocent Colonist, who never got a warning or a reason for their genocide by the Dominion.

The story build and development felt true to the dominion mindset and yet while keeping Eris a loyal Vorta, you give her some personality.
I like the spying and observation followed by the individual encounter and the Bajorian stating his faith been what seem to flick the Senior Vorta to feeling they had to wipe out the aliens. Still ending with the set up for Her encounter with Sisko was a nice little touch.

A very cold recounting of this situation. You know, I always felt that the New Bajor settlement got a bit of a raw deal in terms of how its obliteration came to pass and be known about in canon. I suppose it worked to an extent to portray an aspect of the Dominion but I much prefer the cold, brutal depiction here.

Author's Response: Thank you for the feedback! I felt it necessary to provide some guidelines to Dominion policy. This is something that required the Founders to get involved, which is why they go for a massacre.

Yowch!  The things people are willing to do in the name of a god, or at what they perceive to be the will of a god...

I'm certainly no DS9 or Dominion expert, but I got the impression that this mess was the precursor to the Dominion war - the act that led the sides to fight one another.  I agree with jespah - chilling, but not so different from those things that lead to armed conflict in our own time.  Well done, and interesting to see it from the perspective of those that we would consider to have committed atrocities against innocents.

Author's Response: Thank you for your feedback. Yes, this is a tie-in to the Season 2 finale "The Jem'Hadar," which formally introduced the Dominion.

Egad. And Eris can't really question a god now, can she?

Chilling.

Author's Response: One thing I was going with this was to show the complex nature of being a Vorta. On the one hand, they do have free will. On the other, they are programmed to obey the Founders without question.
